The most versatile melon around, the aptly named honeydew is both sweet and succulent. Its celery-colored flesh looks like a green-tinged precious stone. We like the contrast of flavors when the honeydew is wrapped with a slice of prosciutto.
The beige-green skin of the cantaloupe barely hints at the delectably fragrant, orange-colored fruit inside. Sweet but not oversweet, a ripe cantaloupe has a beautiful floral aroma. The firm flesh has plenty of juice.
